The Great British Strawberry! Those heart shaped sweet fruits have become a symbol of our British Summer Time. High in Vitamin C, Potassium, Manganese, folic acid, calcium and the polyphenolic compound called Ellagic Acid which is shown to protect us from oxidative stress which can lead to cardiovascular disease and other degenerative diseases. Strawberries are a super-food known to help the effects of ageing.

Disease preventionRecently U.K doctors have been asked by our health secretary Alan Johnson to reduce the amount of antibiotics prescribed to patients with coughs and colds. This is to help prevent the spread of the anti-biotic resistant superbugs such as MRSA. He says that the unnecessary prescriptions cost the British health system £1.7 billion per year.

Without doubt antibiotics have saved lives but they are over prescribed, they can be effective in destroying pathogenic bacteria but hold no mercy with their killing spree and end up wiping out our favourable bacteria needed for optimum health and digestive health. Read more here.....
